Every year, the Vellore Institute of Technology holds the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination to determine who will be admitted to the participating institutes' BTech undergraduate engineering programs. VITEEE is a yearly event that enrolls students in various undergraduate courses. Every year, almost two lakh students apply for the VITEEE. All qualified applicants would be given the opportunity to enroll in B.Tech programs at VIT Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal, and Amravati. The institution has started to accept applicants for the BDes (Industrial Design) program via VITEEE as of 2018. The management has complete control over the number of seats and the method of selection.

Candidates enrolling for UG Engineering admission should have passed or will be taking one of the qualifying exams listed below in 2023:
The State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), all in New Delhi, together administer the 10+2 system's final examination for Higher Secondary Examination. A recognized Board or University will administer the intermediate or two-year pre-university examination. Cambridge University's High School Certificate Examination or the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate Office's diploma are two options.
Advanced (A) level General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination from London, Cambridge, or Sri Lanka. Regular "NIOS" board applicants are also qualified for undergraduate engineering programs under VIT regulations. At the time of joining, applicants must present the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate. They should also provide the grades they received in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and Overall (all disciplines), and whenever possible, they should add a scanned copy of the grade list and other pertinent papers to the application form.
To be eligible for B. Tech. admission under the standard mode, Indian nationals, NRIs, and holders of PIO cards must appear in VITEEE-22 (applicants under the international/NRI quota are exempt). Higher secondary school grades, JEE-22 scores, or a legitimate SAT may be substituted for the eligibility requirements in the event that the VITEEE is canceled due to natural disasters. In such a circumstance, applicants would be informed in detail.
Candidates must have achieved a minimum cumulative score of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology on the qualifying test (+2/Intermediate) in order to be considered for admission to the Undergraduate Engineering program in 2022. Candidates for the Undergraduate Engineering Admission in 2023 must have passed the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology with a minimum aggregate of 45% for the following categories:
Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh, as well as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, are from the North Eastern states. At the time of counseling, the applicant must present a CERTIFICAT TO PROVE COMMUNITY/NATIVITY; otherwise, admission will not be considered.
Candidates having studied Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry in +2 / Higher Secondary Board are eligible for all the B.Tech. Programs
Candidates having studied Biology/Physics/Chemistry in +2/ Higher Secondary Board are eligible for the following Bio stream programs only. Upon joining, the students need to mandatorily register for a bridge course in Mathematics
