IMPORTANT DEADLINES

EXTENSION OF APPLICATION DEADLINE

The dates of JEE Main 2024 are set for January 24, 2024, and February 1, 2024. The initial session’s application deadline has been moved up to December 4, 2023.

CORRECTION IN THE ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM

After the deadline for submitting the application online, there will be a chance to edit the details of the form exclusively on the official website. Candidates have till December 6, 2023, to make changes to their JEE Main application form.

ADDING SESSIONS DURING THE CORRECTION WINDOW PERIOD

The candidate has the option to add Session 2 to the session they have previously chosen on the application during the correction window period. The candidate shall have also covered the cost of any additional sessions.

CORRECTIONAL WINDOW WILL BE OPENING DATE

The correctional facility will be available from December 06, 2023, to December 08, 2023.

JEE MAIN 2024: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA, AGE LIMIT AND QUALIFICATION

The deadline for JEE Main 2024 is approaching, and students are attempting to do their best to receive a satisfactory score. But Students must possess a basic knowledge of the JEE Main examination before appearing for it.

There are two papers in the Joint Entrance Examination, or JEE (Main). Applying to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes (B.E/B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Universities/Institutions funded/recognized by participating State Governments requires passing Paper 1. In addition to being a qualifying exam for JEE (Advanced), JEE (Main) is also administered for admission to IITs. Admission to the nation’s B. Arch and B. Planning programmes is determined by the results of Paper 2.

AGE LIMIT

There is no age limit for candidates to appear in the JEE (Main) – 2024. Candidates who passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or are appearing in 2024, regardless of age, are eligible to take the JEE (Main) – 2024 examination. Candidates may need to fulfill the age requirements of the Institute or Institutes that they intend to apply to.

QUALIFICATION FOR JEE MAIN 2024

QUALIFYING EXAMINATIONS LIST

1. The final examination of the 10+2 system, administered by any recognized Central/State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education in New Delhi, the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations in New Delhi, and so on.

2. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination administered by a recognized Board/University.

3. Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy 4. The National Institute of Open Schooling administered Senior Secondary School Examination, with a minimum of five subjects.

5. Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or any foreign country is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

6. Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.

7. A three-year diploma recognized by the AICTE or a state body of technical education.

8. Advanced (A) level General Certificate of Education (GCE) test (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka).

9. Cambridge University’s High School Certificate Examination or the International Baccalaureate Diploma from the International Baccalaureate Office in Geneva.

10. Candidates who have finished the Class 12 (or comparable) examination outside of India or from a Board other than those listed above must submit a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) stating that the test they passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination.

11. If the Class 12 Exam is not a public test, the candidate must have previously passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

YEAR OF PARTICIPATION IN THE ELIGIBILITY EXAM

The applicants eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2024 are limited to those who passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or who are taking the exam in 2024.

Applicants are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2024 if they passed the Class 12 or equivalent test in 2021 or earlier, or if they plan to take the exam in 2024 or later.

TOTAL NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS

Examinees may sit for the exam three times in consecutive years in terms of attempts.

SUBJECTS COVERED IN THE QUALIFICATION EXAM

At least five subjects from the qualifying exam—Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject—must have been passed by the applicants to be eligible for JEE Main 2024.

75 PERCENT OF THE JEE MAINS 2024 REQUIREMENTS

Last year, NTA imposed the eligibility requirement of 75% marks for JEE Mains. Nowadays, in order to be eligible for JEE Mains, aspirants must receive at least 75% of their class 12 marks in order to be admitted to their preferred institute. There was no such need before COVID-19. If a candidate fails to meet at least 75% of the JEE Mains criteria, they will be disqualified and cannot be admitted to any institute, including CFTIs, NITs, IIITs, or IITs.

IIT Madras has released the initial JEE Advanced 2024 cutoff percentage. The final JEE Advanced cutoffs will be released with the result. However, candidates can check the category-wise qualifying cutoffs below on this page for the previous years. In the year 2023, there has been a rise in the cutoff marks and cutoff percentage. JEE Advanced cutoff implies the minimum percentage of marks that aspirants need to acquire for inclusion in JEE Advanced rank list. Only candidates who will score the minimum prescribed marks in each subject and aggregate will be included in the rank list. These marks will determine a candidate’s admission to the premier IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology).

JEE Main 2024 New Update

JEE Main 2024 is a standardized test conducted across different states in India. The exam is held at an undergraduate level to offer admissions to some of the best engineering and technical institutions that are Government funded or privately-owned.

JEE Main 2024: Admit Card Release News and Updates

JEE Main 2024 Admit Card Recent News

NTA will soon release the JEE Main 2024 admit card online at jeemain.nta.ac.in. After it is officially released, candidates can download the admit card of JEE Main 2024 from here. This page will be updated with a direct link to download the JEE Mains admit card. Candidates will be able to download the IIT JEE Main admit card tentatively three days before the JEE Main exam.

Candidates will require their login credentials such as application number and date of birth to download the JEE Main admit card 2024. The admit card will include the JEE Main exam date, time, candidate’s details, and JEE test centre. Candidates have to bring the JEE Main 2024 admit card and valid identity proof to the exam centre. The JEE Main 2024 exam for session 1 will be held from January 24 to February 1 while session 2 will be held from April 1 to 15, 2024.

JEE Main 2024 Exam Center List State Wise

Every examination year, NTA releases a comprehensive list of JEE Main 2024 Exam centre list for both Indian States and Outside India. As per the recent updates, NTA has selected 501 cities in India and 13 cities abroad to conduct JEE Main 2024 Exam.

The allocation of the JEE Main 2024 Exam centre list is based on preferences filled by the candidate during the JEE Main 2024 Exam Application Process. The Candidates are asked to select 4 exam centres as per their current address and feasibility. Accordingly, NTA will allocate the JEE Main 2024 Exam centre list for those candidates who have successfully completed their application forms and will receive their Centre details in their JEE Main 2024 Exam Admit Card.

JEE Main 2024 Exam Center – New Centres

NTA has not added any new exam centres for the conduct of JEE Main 2024 examinations. Kargil (Ladakh), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Anuja/ Lagos (Nigeria) are three new centres freshly added by NTA during the time of Covid-19, that exists till now also. There are few JEE Main 2024 exam centres that are omitted from the list. Few centres for JEE Main 2024 exam that are not present in the city list are Daman and Diu, Karaikal, Udhampur, Kathuka etc. Well, the applicants cannot request any change to their exam centres after the JEE Main admit card has been issued.

The JEE Main application form process 2024 is released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and candidates must visit the official website to download and fill out the form. For 2024, the JEE Main application form should be filled in two stages, as the entrance exam will be conducted in 2 sessions, i.e., the first session in January and the second session in April.

What’s new in JEE Main 2024 Registration?

The NTA has introduced a new change in JEE Main 2024 application form process. In the JEE Main 2024 registration process, NTA has introduced the option to select a preferred registration mode. Candidates can register by using any one among Aadhar Enrollment Number, PAN, Passport number or ABC ID (Academic Bank of Credit ID).

Class 10 and 12 certificates
Category certificates (if applicable)
Credit/Debit Card or Internet banking details for payment of JEE Mains form fees

JEE Main Registration

The link to JEE Main registration page is usually available as soon as the registration window gets activated on the official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in) of the JEE Main. On the registration page of JEE Main, the following details of the applicant must be entered carefully:

Nationality, Identification Type, State, Name of the Student, Date of Birth and Gender of the Applicant. After filling in all the above-mentioned details, enter the security pin and click on the submit button.

Another important step to note here is, during the registration for the online application form, candidates have to note down the system-generated application number. Then, the candidate should also create a PASSWORD and choose Security Question, and enter their desired answer.

After the successful submission of the personal details, an application number is generated, and it will be used to complete the remaining steps of the application form. It will also be required for all future reference/correspondence. This application number will also be used/referred for both sessions of JEE Main 2024. For subsequent logins, the candidate will be able to log in directly with the respective system-generated application number and created password.
